Past, Present, and (Near) Future

At the end of May, the kids and I are going to be leaving on another of our epic adventures:  10 weeks, three states, and four other countries before heading home in time for school to begin again in August.  I'm starting this blog in order to document this coming trip, but meanwhile will spend the next month posting (in mostly chronological order) some of our old trip reports and pictures.  This isn't an exhaustive list, although it may sound a bit exhausting!

Jake and I travelled before we had kids, and we continued to do so after they were born.  Miriam was born in April of 2005, and here we are at Stonehenge at the beginning of June of that year.  We have lived several places, including four countries outside the US (three of them since beginning our family, and both kids were born overseas), so we have had an advantage of relatively short travel times to most of these locations.  In short, travel is what we do, and having babies didn't slow us down too much.  Now it's what they do, too.  I think the trick is to begin when they are so delightfully portable, and then it becomes a way of life.

At any rate, we try for a major trip every year or so, and spend the time in between saving our pennies and researching where we need to go, what we need to do, and the most price conscious way to do so.  I hope you enjoy looking over our trips, and I hope you'll join us on the road sometime, too!
