Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center

One of the most important "must do" items of coming to Colorado for Miriam and Hans is a chance to play in the snow.  They keep reminding me that while Jake and I grew up in snow, their need to see it is genetic, and we've had them living in the South for almost 6 years now.  So, here it is!

One of my most well-travelled friends had told me that the tour at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center outside of Colorado Springs is one of his favorite tours in the world.  Unfortunately, Hans is still too young to go on any of the interactive tours, but we still were able to go on the standard tour on Thursday morning.

The tour begins with a briefing on the history and current status of wolves in the United States, as well as encouragement to contact our representatives in Congress to vote in a way that will help save wildlife.

Following that, our group followed our guide along a path through several wolf enclosures, where we got to see several wolves, coyotes, and foxes, and learn their histories.
